Heater Core Q's
Is there any other heater cores that will fit other than the original core from a non A/C truck??
Has anyone here used a heater core from another vehicle??? Or rigged one up to work??? Anyone know what the ceapest heater core is to buy from an auto parts store??? Just curious....

im sure you could rig almost any core of similar shape and size in there but it wont fit properly in the box or the hose inlets will be the wrong size or something. if you have to just bypass the heater box for a while til ya can get the proper one or ask someone for a good used one cheaper though last time i needed a heater core they were like $60

Most of the aftermarket or either the new style heater cores are junk in my opintion,you would be better getting a used Harrison heater core and taking it to a radiator shop and letting them go through it,there made out of better material!

I bought mine from WES. It was reasonable priced and the correct size and shape - no mods required. I think you'd be happier with the results if you put in the right one.

I just replaced mine over the weekend. I bought a new non A/C heater core at a local auto parts store for $32. The height and width along with inlet and outlet tubes were an exact match. The thickness on the new core was about 1/4" less than the old one but it did not affect the mounting in anyway.

the heater core for my non ac 72 cost me like 30 bucks or so wasnt expensive at all to just get the right one in the first place
