NOS GM 1972 outer grille

Ended up with two of these and have decided I don't need to hoard it anymore. Still in its original box. When I got it the guy also gave me this heavy, well-made stainless hot rod type center grill you see pictured - said he paid $300 for it so you get that FREE if you buy the NOS GM Grille for the same $1800 I paid, or if one of you wants the center only, you can have that separate for $200 shipped. DO NOT reply here or PM if you decide you want this because I am seldom on this forum page - TEXT or CALL me instead at 256 486 1988

SHIPPING: it shipped to the dealership in the 80's or whenever in this original box, and I assume it would make it fine again in it, but thats your call. Better to come to Alabama after it. Its a huge box already, so I cannot imagine what kind of giant box it would take to put this one inside and then add popcorn etc....but the UPS store will guarantee its safe passage if you are willing to pay whatever they swipe your card for when they finish packaging it. I can give you dimensions and your local store can calculate box size and charges

Re: NOS GM 1972 outer grille

a couple more - the inner grille is wrapped in protective wrap I did not remove so it wouldn't get scratched. For the hot rod or modified truck guy, that inner grille looks pretty sweet I have to admit - super well made and has a bag of hardware too

Looks like $1800, buried in the post in the first paragraph.

Re: NOS GM 1972 outer grille

I just sold an NOS 71-72 inner and outer grill for $1800.00 + shipping.
I cut 2 plywood strips slightly thinner than the height of the box and 4 cross pieces about 8-10 inches wide to go across.
I wrapped the grill in bubble wrap then I air-stapled 2 cross pieces on each side.
I then stuffed in more bubble wrap. It all slid into the box tightly.
Shipping was $65.00 including insurance for $1800.00
I sold my '72 Blazer so I no longer needed it.

$65 is cheap for a 5' long or longer heavy wood crate. I have no idea how you got it sent that cheap

It only went from East Tennessee to Central KY.
76" x 19" x 8" the weight was 29 lbs.
Also, there was no wood exposed on the outside of the box. UPS will not ship wooden crates.

Nice job. Tight to be right too.

I developed an assembly information kit for restoring my truck from nuts and bolts. It's written in Assy. order, short & simple, packed with all OEM hardware ID; castings; part ID; 100s of part numbers; wiring simple - Resource, and trivial too.

Much info. applies to all 67-72 GM, A/C vehicles, esp. trucks W/O saying. Full search ability, including to 700+ images of illus., parts, charts, Assy., points of interest, cab, bed, & front clip cart plans- Specials and cores were serviced out and R excluded e.g. front/rear glass, body/paint, engine core, rebuilt hinges, steering box, trans, etc.

The project was in-line with long former professions developing process, policy, specs, demo, written for novices, admin., policy, engineers, development, systems & test - Public & govt 2, gross. Sell soft copy cheaply, PM if interested.

Re: NOS GM 1972 outer grille

Starting to feel like I over paid when I gave 1800 for this nice pair of grilles. I guess make an offer if you feel this is too high

I am also wondering if some of you may be looking at the custom inner grille thinking its one of the el cheapo low-dollar crappy made ones when its really the 300 dollar way nicer and very heavy built one. I am more of a purist, but if I had the LS swapped or modified lowered truck like most of you are driving, I'd 100% be installing this sweet inner vs the GM type because I think its got a better custom look for a modified truck
