sun visor question

My visors are in really good condition with the exception of the stitching is gone around the edges part of the way and the I don't know the name of the material that binds to the side together "piping" maybe.

Is there a place to order just the 'piping' and make the repair myself? (actually, my Mom, she has a super-duper industrial sewing machine-LOL)

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: sun visor question

I have the same issue on my 67. I picked up a stitching awl years ago but still haven't gotten around to doing it. I want to use the existing holes and didn't want a shop to just run a set of new stitches with a different pattern and possibly doing damage to the vinyl edging.

Re: sun visor question

I will get a picture later today of the repair that was attempted on mine. Some hand stitching but the stitches are bout three or four inches apart. Not a good look. LOL

If I had the vinyl stripping/piping that overlaps the two pieces and is then sewed I I think my mom can repair my visors and leave one more thing closer to how it was once upon a long time ago.

Re: sun visor question

My buddies wife re-stitched mine. No machine needed.
