New Fender Emblems For The Black Dually

-
A board member that is a friend of mine had his son in law make these custom fender emblems for my Black C30 Dually Pickup. I thought they came out really good. You can buy something similar on Ebay but they are made out of plastic and deteriorate after they spend a couple of years out in the weather.

They are hard to get a good picture of without better picture taking skills and equipment than I have. I am going to paint the backgrounds black to make the lettering stand out better.

The weather will be warming up in the next few days so maybe I can get them painted and installed.

Thanks guys! I think I will use the Scotch Extreme or the Gorilla double faced tape.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Scotch-1...4-48/205532219

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gorilla-...e-more-details

They are about the same thickness just over 1/32" if my bad math still works. That should be thin enough.

Killer Bee recommends the 3m VHB tape. "3M VHB [Very High Bond] is available in different widths, thicknesses, and colors.."

I thought I might go with this. 3M Double Sided Mounting Tape 5925 VHB 1''x15.4Ft 0.025in Thick. It is thinner than the Scotch or Gorilla.

Re: New Fender Emblems For The Black Dually

As long as the fender surface is same contour as emblem, the thin tape will be good, but if you need a little give for mismatch of surface angle be careful or the tape will eventually release. I'd hate to lose one.

As an old friend used to say. Live like a turtle, move slow and live long! At this point in life there’s no need to rush. Those will look great mounted.

Well, I finally got the fender badges installed. Seems like a shame to waste them on a work truck but what the heck, at least it's a Hotrod work truck.....

Looks cool! One of my friends has a fairly late model truck with the 496 in it, for towing his horse trailer. Spins the tire(s) easily. I guess with duals it's not that much of a problem?

I'm curious- what are you running for a radiator?
