Outer door skin and inner door bottom replacement order?
I've seen several threads that cover replacing one or the other, but haven't really found any about replacing both. I'm wondering which order works best, using the other piece as the correct reference. Since the outer skin folds back in over the inner bottom, seems like the inner bottom should be replaced first? Any ideas or suggestions appreciated, thanks.

Re: Outer door skin and inner door bottom replacement order?
I replaced the inner bottoms first and left the old skin on to fit them by. I cut templates out of thin plywood that fit the shape of the outer door panel front and rear so I could continuously make sure that the door outer shape stayed factory. Sort of like the Nascar templates that they check cars with. Then I removed the door skin and replaced them. I used a small side grinder and cup brush to remove any surface rust inside and then Rustoleum rust converter and then undercoating, followed by Dynamat on the inside of the outer skin.

Re: Outer door skin and inner door bottom replacement order?
Thanks. I am staying below the hinge mount on the bottom inner, and on the outer I can "hide" the butt weld under the lower trim. At least that's what I'm setting out to do. There used to be a Brothers Trucks YouTube video on this exact thing, but it contained very little actual how-to information. It was more like a cooking show where they just pull the final thing from the oven without going over how to make it.
