Re: NASCAR safety....

Back in the early days of stock car racing they didn't have all this new fangled safety stuff. Those were men!

Fire suits, full face helmuts, COOL suits, fresh air to helmuts, power steering. pfssss

Re: NASCAR safety....

I have this four DVD set thats an interesting watch. Very basic safety precautions for sure.

Seems like most early forms of racing safety was barely and afterthought.

Re: NASCAR safety....

Ohh the RCR slice of heaven. Damn that place is bad ass!

The car pictured above is actually #3 CRC car that Richard raced in the late 70’s, not Dale. The museum is amazing if you were/are a SR/ K-Harv fan like my self.
That’s the closest any living person will ever get to Dale Earnhardt minus knowing Dale jr. The wicked witch of nascar has ruined his legacy. I’m glad Richard has gone so far to preserve what he could.
Fortunately/Unfortunately Dales death is a huge reason why the safety side of the sport has evolved the way it has over the last 25 years.

Re: NASCAR safety....

Oh man. That don't even meet derby car standards for today but at the time it was just how it was done. The sport has evolved.
