You have put alot of work and money into that truck Kyle....have you driven it yet?
Take it for a spin and see if you still want to sell it

I see from your profile that you're young. Please don't sell your truck. If you sell your first big project without finishing it first, you'll wind up hating yourself.
When you start one of these things, it's a commitment. Your small block is, in my opinion, the nicest looking one here on the board. I admire the early flavor of it every time I see it. Trust me, you're bogged down in it right now. Every one of my projects goes through that stage. When I haven't driven it in months and am always broke buying little pissy crap for it, I always think about bailing on it. Stick it out and finish it so you can get some real money for it. You have done beautiful work so far. All of it looks awesome. Focus and keep grinding along. You won't be sorry if you finish it. I've done 5 complete cars/ trucks so far. I've been there man. On my 6th one right now.

Camero's nice....KEEP THE TRUCK!!!
P.S. I been looking for a set of valve covers like that. All I could find is some 58 corvette aluminum valve covers. Last edited by Gene; 01-20-2004 at 01:31 PM. |

dude.... keep the truck. the camero might be flashy, but youll love your truck once you finish it. youll know every nut and bolt in and out of it and when something happens youll know what youve one too ti. believe me, youll love that truck when it is finished. a camaro can be had any day of the week, but not a truck like that that you built from the ground up spending your high school/college years completing! plus everybody loves a truck... especially here

Dude! You've got to keep the truck. I know first gen camaros are sweet, but you are a long ways on your truck. I am 21, going on 22 in May, and I will have my truck for two years in April...I just now have gotten the entire thing tore down! You're project is where I wish mine was! When I look at those pictures I can almost hear it idling, I won't hear mine idle for at least another year! Finish the truck, I think you will find it more fulfilling and wind up keeping it in the end. And just like these trucks, there will always be a camaro too. Every time a new fad comes into style an old fad goes out, and along with that, prices drop. Good luck, I hope you make the decision that is right for you.

Believe me, I've been there. My wife and I did a bunch of work on her 68 Camaro and sold it in 1998. I can post pictures tomorrow when I get home. You're too far along on the truck to bail out now.
YOU WILL HATE YOURSELF SOMEDAY FOR SELLING THE TRUCK

I would have to echo the sentiment of everyone else...forget the camaro for right now, first gen camaros seem to grow on trees in the south and western U.S. So do trucks, but my point is that proportionally, there arent as many hotrodded trucks as there are camaros. and even fewer 3/4 tons. and even fewer GMCs. especially one you built yourself. I am personally jealous, I have wanted a truck since I was 12 or so, but when I got my license I settled for my grampa's buick. I never realized the dream of getting a truck til last year (i'm 19) and its still my DD, and I havent done hardly any work on it at all. yours is this close to being a really nice ride. stick with it, man.

i know how your feeling, i have always wanted a 2wd swb truck and when mine wasnt finished i always planned on selling it once it was done. that all changed when i actaully finished it and drove it. you cant be dissapointed driving that truck, anything with that pissed off small block and 4.10s would be a kick in the ass.

keep the truck, man! you've done a great job so far!! there's nothing quite like pulling up next to someone at a stoplight and getting the "thumbs-up" sign,.....and knowing YOU did all the work that went into it! hang in there!! and like they've said there is something 'bout a pickup that a camaro don't, and never will, have.

there are way too many 67-69 camaros already fixed up, plus it is hard to find one for cheap. I like trucks b/c they are unique and different. not everyone has an old hotrod truck. I 'll have to admit an old camero is sweet, but keep the truck, and later down the road maybe buy the camero. one you drive your truck and get some thumbs up from other people, you will never want to sell your truck, trust me. I'm 19 and have already built 3 of them. And i'll gladly build another truck. just my .02

Pleasssse dont do it.
I am 16 too and as cool as most young people think a camaro would be the truck is still the best. I know you have put a ton of work in that truck (it shows) and not everyone has a truck like that.
