Power booster conversion?

I just pulled a power brake booster from my brother in laws old blazer, I believe it's a 77. Of course my 67 has manual brakes and does not have the same bolt up pattern. What do you guys do to mount the booster.
I was thinking of spot welding it to the firewall, but if it goes getting it off won't be fun to remove.
I was also thinking of cutting the mounting plate off of the blazer and welding that into my truck.
I don't know. What is the easiest way to go about this and what else am I going to have to convert to make this work.

On my 67 I bought a power booster that fit and it bolted right up.Still have the 4 drum brakes but I don,t have to push the pedal right to the floor to get it to stop.

Okay, I understand the cost factor, but it would be much easier (time=$) to purchase the correct booster firewall bracket and pedal rod. A drum brake setup for 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton will work and should be readilly available. You also get the added benefit of not having to remeber what year the part is when replacing or mixing/matching parts. This of course assumes that your goal is to have power brakes and you are NOT trying to fabricate a flush mount booster to clean up your firewall.

This does not address your question but is simply advice from someone whos been there and done that.

I think I've seen it repo'd but used will do. Just make sure you get the complete setup including rod to pedal. Your manual brake rod won't work. Post a WTB on the parts board.

I took the brake rod and everything exept for the brake pedal and arm itself. I hope the brake rod matches up with my stock brake assembly.
