I cut up my dash
Many of you are probably going to hate this pic but I had my dash shaved between the guages and glove box. I am going to put an Old Air System in my truck with an aftermarket control lever that I have already purchased right in the center of the Dash under the A/C vent. I want to know your honest opinion of what I have done. And has anybody seen this done before with pics? Darin

Looks good...
here's another option with the Vintage Air control panel. The switches on either side of the control panel are the headlight and wiper switches. I had to move these because of the new gauge panel I built.

panel... Yes, I can build more.... Look closely, that IS NOT and overlay. The piece below the dash is what I call a dash drop. I will be mounting my air ride switched just below the gauge panel.

I think that looks real nice and clean. Really makes the dash flow and gets rid of all the stuff you don't need
Did you do it all yourself? Whoever did, it looks like they know what they are doin

No I didn't do it myself. A buddy of mine in Mesa, AZ has his own shop and is doing this work for me. I wouldn't even want to try this. (I want my truck to look good)

cutting up your dash dont bother me, frankly I LIKE IT! I cut my dash for a cd player, because I like tunes, and I like my cd player in a convienent place

I have been thinking of extending the dash ends out from the dash where the a/c vents are and kinda moulding them in so they flow onto the door and ties in with the trim panels kinda like the late model trucks. and doing something like you have on the center section, possibly angling the a/c,radio,and center vent towards the driver maybe 15-20 deg ala 73-87 truck style. top it all off with a custom dash pad.

I like it. It would look cool if you also filed in the textured area of the bezel and painted it to match the dash. It would add to the smooth look. Maybe build a center console that is smooth too and carries down the from the smoothed center...
