New GM 20" wheels. Fit on '73 - '87 4wd???
Does anyone know, or have access to a mole inside of Chevrolet that can scam a specification sheet for the new 20" Chevy/GMC wheels that are now on the market?
Here's a link: http://www.gmgoodwrench.com/gmgoodwr...20%22%20Wheels Specifically, what I'm interested in is: A. will the wheel center opening slip over the Front Dana 44 axle hub (3.5" dia.)? B. Will the width and backspace work? C. Will the lug pattern fit? D. The late model trucks have metric wheel lugs vs. american threads on our trucks. Will this make a difference? E. Do they make a front cover that is open that will 'shoulder' the Dana 44 hub? If anyone has any experience with these wheels, or knows who to ask, I'd be greateful! Thanks, Greg.

Ocubad, the 4X4 are 6 by 5.5" centers. To the best of my knowledge, the only difference in late model vs. older is metric vs. american. However, with newer wheels, the hubs can sometimes screw into the stud.

mcmlxix, you may be right, that's why I was hoping to score a specification sheet, to verify.

the new wheels are dang nice, but i'm sad to say that they won't fit over the hub on a solid front axle truck, they will fit on the rear though, lol the centers are just under 3 inches across.
i've installed two sets at where i work and they are nice wheels. chevyforever

Too bad GM won't make anything nice for the HD trucks. I kinda like this one...

I wonder how much a set of 44" mudders would be for those...

Well, thanks for the input everyone. I was hoping for better news, but expected the worse!
These old Dana 44's axles are just not getting the love from the custom wheel manufacturers (including GM). Well, the treasure hunt continues.....
