Finally some justice for the good guy! My Nephew was killed on a hiway in MO last summer. I think the name of the town was Rockaway Beach. You guys need to take it easy out there. Good to hear your truck is getting fixed.

Awesome. This knucklehead hit two other cars that week, What the hell is he smokin? Well, good thing he has insurance though. If I were you I would get more than what the insurance company offers. They should negotiate because they don't want to get sued.
I did this before when somebody totaled my car, the insurance company said that they would give me an X amount of dollars for my loss and I told them no way. I said that I took very good care of my car and it was in excellent condition, which it was, and was very reliable. Where am I going to find a reliable car for the amount of money that you are offering me? They asked me how much that I was looking for, I threw a number at them and they said ok and didn't even dispute. That was easy, I wish I had asked for a hell of alot more.
I ended up fileing a lawsuit anyway because the policy holder really screwed up my back.

I'm glad it turned out ok. What in the world was he driveing that he could do that much damage to your truck and still drive it long enough to hit two more vehicles?

Congrats that things will work out good for you. They might try to total your truck out because the damage exceeds the value in their little book. Take what they give you, then buy what you need here and do the work yourself. You should get to drive the rental until you settle with them.
