How Hard Would It Be To Put 88-98 Light Duty 3/4 ton (6Lug ) Spindles On a 67-70?

Has anyone ever thought of this?

Im thinkin If it would work that would be a neat way to do a disc up front conversion and retain the 6 lug i know the lug studs are prolly 1/2 or bigger but shouldnt be a problem ..

I also wonder if the 3/4 ton is gonna have a raised spindle effect

Just an idea i had any Info on the subject would be greatly apreciated..

And i know they already make a 6 lug kit but there expensive so im thinking what if*

Just for info: the spindles on the 88-93ish 6 lug 3/4 ton trucks are the same as the 88-98 1/2 ton spindles (according to Hollander). I have seen information on this board before that you can use the rotors off the 88-93ish 6 lug 3/4 ton truck on 71-87 1/2 ton spindles. A while back, I had Autozone pull a rotor for a 90 3/4 ton (6 lug) and one for a 72 1/2 truck (5 lug). They were real close to being the same. If I remember right, the 6-lug rotor was just slightly larger in diameter but not enough to keep it from working. The thing I was unable to find out was if the inner and outer bearing were the same or if the bearing for a 71-up 1/2 ton would work. That type of info is not in there computers so it is like pulling teeth to get them to pull out a book so I still don't know. You may want to go to your favorite parts store and do a little research.

I might just get a 6 lug rotor and some bearings and get out the old micrometer and do some checking Ive got a 68 thats been converted to 5 lug and i kinda want it back to 6 so i can run newer GMC wheels.

dream68 did this. I think he said you need the 88 spindle, rotor and lower ball joint. You also need a 3/4 ton lower a arm.
