This shouldbe the engine update thread
My 388 is setback. My no markings what so ever old pistons were actually +.040" pistons so now I have to wait on the new .060" pistons to get here and I need to order some new rings and my block has to go .060 over. Anyone want to buy a set of +.030" childs & albert duramoly rings?

I have a 3970010 casting block in my 78. It came out of a 71 truck. I have a book of numbers somewhere but cant locate it. My block has a 4 bolt main with 1.94 heads. factory rated at 290 horse. Alot of the castings cover a range of years. If the heads have holes for brackets the heads are 69 and up.

My 400 is still at stage zero. I'm trying to plan everything out on the setup so I get what I want the first time through, but my paychecks have been very small these last couple of months and I have other problems to deal with before the engine, like my broken radio hanging from my dash and the four speed I'm thinking about saving up to get.
