Assorted parts questions-related to purchasing said parts

in the next few weeks when my truck build goes into full swing i plan on replacing some items on my engine that either need to be or im told by people in the know that should be replaced.one of the items im told by those in the know should be replaced is my valve springs.im not replacing the cam/lifters unless absolutely needed due mostly to time and to a small degree financial constraints-so since it will have a stock cam most likely is there a good brand of stock valve springs i should buy and what brands should i avoid?my uncle also suggested i buy polylocks i know for the most part what they are but where can i buy them at?im also going to buy an auxilary trans cooler-again any brands to look out for or any brand i should buy?any other tips would be great.

Go with a B&M "stacked-plate" cooler for your trans.
Get the largest one they sell too.
Swerve did the same with a cooler he got from me and did a good write up on the install on 73-87.com.

personally, i'd go with a good set of TRW springs. i bought a set for my 82 C10 when i started to redo a set of 882 heads for it. i think they only cost me about $30 for the set, and i picked them up at Auto Zone.

can you get this at say a speed shop or parts store or mail order only?
