1978 Ex-UPS Truck

My friend and I are thinking about buying this 78 UPS truck about 30 miles from me so we can us it as a party bus. Its got a 6cyl and 4spd but I haven't got an answer whether or not the thing runs, if it doesn't run then its not even worth the time so I won't worry about it, but hopefully it will. No title but I hope we can get one for it. Two questions: First, It has a bad steering box, will one from a 3/4 or 1 ton Chevy pickup truck of that same generation(73-87) work as a replacement? And second, how hard would it be/how would I go about getting a new title? Let me know.

Thanks,
- Ben

LOL, yeah, like that one awhile back in truckin? That would be tight be we don't have that kind of a budjet, me might put some newer 1 ton wheels on it so it sits lower, but that would be about the only mod in that area. I'm gonna custom make a side-pipe exhaust for it, just cuz it would be funny/cool looking. Basically its just gonna be a party bus. I went and saw it this morning, its pretty cool, needs a battery, steering box, and an ignition cylinder. So if anybody has either of the last 2 that they want to sell, I'm wanting to buy. The owner of it said the ignition out of a chevy van of that same body-style would work, but it can't be the one that goes into the column. Its pretty cool on the inside, the dash is like all in the middle of it and everything, its gonna be fun, I made a deal with him so hopefully by the end of this week it'll be in my driveway. Let me know.

Thanks,
- Ben

Yep, thats the one C10, real beauty ain't she? lol I'm only about 25 miles from the place so I went and looked at it, got a good laugh. It would be a fun project, no doubt about it, looks like I got outbid though...Oh well, maybe I'll bid again later on. That 64 step van would be pretty cool to trick out.

And Lynx, I can't believe my neighbors haven't complained about all the crap out behind the garage from my truck already, not to mention the old dodge conversion van out there, so I'm thinkin if this doesn't get some complaints, nothing will. Hopefully I'll get it, my friend already ordered an ignition for it, lol.

I might be mistaken, but didn't alot of those come with the Ford 300ci inline 6 with the borg-warner t-18 4 speed? I know alot of the Holsum bread trucks were set up that way.

Any way you look at it, thats a tight project!:p
