Talking New Guy's truck

Well I want to start off by saying i really like this site , lots of great info. Been hovering around here for about a month. But i traded off my 72 project truck for an 86 truck that is more my style 4X4. here's a pic of it let me know what you guys think. i have some things planned for it. But pretty much just some minor things. Thanks for a great site guys !!!

Nice truck, I love the look! Glad the tires aren't too fat, I personally think lifted trucks with large tires that stick halfway (or all the way) out of the wheel well look corny.

Tell us more about the truck!

Thanks for the compliments guys, and yes them tires are the new 38.5 x 11.00- 15 super swamper tires. They kinda skinny looking at first but the more i look at them i think the more i like them. Plus they are also lighter being narrow and easier on the truck. The truck is a 86 silverado with 700r4 trans with the stock 305 still in place with ice cold air conditioner , wich means alot in the south. It has 8 inch suspension lift and i think the body lift is 2 1/2 " from my measurments. One of the first things i will do is raise the bumpers up so they look right. Thanks for the compliments and comments! Constructive critism is always helpful too. And i might as well throw another pic at you all.

that is a gorgeous truck! On the brighter side, the skinnier tires are a big help in mud, where you want the height but nit the width to drag through. Sounds like it is time to swap a 350 or 383 in, though.

An excellent example of a 4x4 that I like. Don't think I could stand the swampers on the street, but it looks sweet!

Welcome from the North. You'll love it here.

Oh I almost forgot...that is a VERY NICE looking truck. I love the monochrome black (thank goodness for A/C). And those tires look like a whole lot of fun, especially once they're powered by a 350.
