well heres the problem, i can leave my truck run for 5 minutes and all the windows are clear but the minute I hit the highway the window frosts up on the inside and i cant clear it off its so thick? what doy uo guys think is wrong??

i have the same problem with my 67. My problem is that snow in the cowl gets blown in & melted in the heater core & then freezes on the windows. & my truck makes zero heat so it takes a long time to defrost. I SEARCHED for frost shields & finally found them at a local speed shop. I can pick some up & send them to you if you want to cover the costs. Its -36ish here with the windchill right now so it takes forever to warm up. one word - FROST SHIELDS

That is common on all cars, just make sure to get all the snow off of the cowl and don't run the defrost if there is snow there. Another trick is to crack your windows open a bit.
Was that at Softys Greg?

It was -36c (-33f) here this morning WITHOUT windchill, but once it gets below -25 it all feels the same.

Where do you get the Frost Shields you are refering too.......?

Is this the plexiglas that fits over the cowl intake.........?

You also may have a heater core leaking. Check to see if heater box is wet anywhere.

I may need some soon, they're forecasting snow and temperatures down to -14 C this coming week here in the UK as the wind comes down from the Arctic, still can't imagine what -36 feels like though!

a frost shield is usually a rectanglular piece of clear plastic. the corners are rounded off & the border is sticky - sticky enouugh os that it forms an airtight seal against the glass. It is clear & allows the window to roll up & down but seals out the humid air. after a few years in the sun they dry out & crack & become useless. They work really well. Some old cars didnt have the good heat & they were 110% necessary here as Gee Emm sez, its -36C before the windchill. I'll post a pic soon ok? & yes Greg, the ONLY place in tha 'peg that had the shields was Softy's.

It get down to the low 30s here( I know nice and warm compared to where you guys are) and the windows do fog up. Not because of snow though. ANyway, "Rain-X" makes a window tratment called "Anti/Fog" and it works great on the cold mornings here. Just follow the directions and your windows dont fog up! Hope this helps ya...70short/step
