Funny how things work out...check this good story out!

You guys probably know that I am, and have been looking for a good 2wd 67-72 driver to purchase while I do the frame off on my 4x4 72' SWB. So a month or so ago I posted a 72' bench seat good shape for FREE in the "for sale" section, requirements...come pick it up. Board member J.Lance who lives close by says he wants it and come to get it a few days later. We talked a while and I showed him my SWB 4x4 that I am dying to take apart. Jason tells me I need to go see or talk his friend Dan in Colorado Springs, Dan knows tons about these trucks. Well 3-4 weeks went by, me scouring all the net for trucks to buy with really no good feelings about any that I had found. I had called Jason's friend Dan earlier this week and made arrangements to drive to CO, Springs on Sunday (this morning). Dan had told me he had a few trucks I might be interested in.

Got there this morning and met Dan. Super nice guy. He had a frame off 68' in his garage that was more than I wanted to spend. But he also knew of a 71' SWB that might fit my needs. He made a call and then we drove over to see the 71'. It's the one! Super straight body, I mean straight!, radio not cut, no speaker holes in the door, steel bed floor that is as nice as could be, looks as if they never hauled anything in this truck, NO RUST, new rebuilt 350, 3 on tree ( I will convert), and in primer ready to paint.
Told the owner I would be going to the bank on Monday (tomorrow)! So.....I gave a seat away and in turn a got directions to a rust free 2wd SWB driver that is just too COOL! Price: $5000.00

Yeh...you could say I'm stoked. Can't wait to get her home! Sending a big Thank You to J.Lance!

Looking into the future.....the 2wd SWB will become the next frame-off once the K-10 is finished. I will just have to have will power and keep all work focused on the K-10. I could see what you guys were saying, that it might be difficult to work just on the 72' when you have a 71' swb sitting right in front of you. Focus, focus, focus!

Thumbs up

Just got back from the bank... One small page to fill out and was pre-approved. Bank says come pick up check for the 71' SWB next Tuesday, something about processing and a required 3 day waiting period for "Buyer Remorse". I told the bank, "No, that should be, buyers rejoice!" So just got off the phone with the seller, all is good. He says, "Come get it this Friday as it has to be out of my shop by then". I explained that I would not have have the money until Tuesday and he says"Thats ok I'll trust you". Pretty Cool! I'll post pics of her when I get her home.

Oh yeah....What color guys??? Took some extra cash on the loan to have her painted immediately cause she's in primer and ready to shoot. Colors??? I'm thinking either solid corvette torch red or solid corvette Millienium yellow, thoughts???
