I am debating on getting a sawzall. Will they cut through rivets and frames?

Or are they just good for wood?

Use a grinder for rivets. Sawzall is good for sheetmetal. Plasma cutter or torch for frame, heavier metal.

With a metal cutting blade in a sawzall, you can use it to cut sheetmetal to frames. It is one of the most versitile tools I have.

I used mine to hack my dash to fit a new cd player cause I aint skeered:p

Buy good blades for cutting steel, the cheap one's are OK for thin metal. Rivets don't cut with blades. You could cut the steel easier than the rivets. Grinder and drills for rivets. The good one's have a quick change for blade for no tools needed. Mine has a setting that also drives the blade forward for aggressive wood cutting. I have a Porter Cable 737 Tiger saw...had it for few years..awesome tool.

I've cut anything with mine. Crossmembers, frames, rivets sheetmetal......

Dozens of Volkswagen bugs have fell victim to my SawzAll. You can cut one into small enough pieces to pile it in the bed of a pickup in about 10 minutes.
