Disc Brakes on 68'

My dad has a 1968 C10 with drum brakes that hes going to sell to me.. He also has two scrappers 71' and 72', I was wandering if possible what is needed to take disc brakes off 71' and put on 68'..

Swap the whole front crossmember.

What he said, plus booster, master cylinder and proportioning valve (funny shaped doohickey next to master cylinder). May also want to swap rearend to get 5 lugs all the way around. Have fun!

thx guys, I'm not very mechanically inclined so idk all that stuff but I'll tell my dad, he manages a Transmission Shop and if he has any more questions about it ill be back

The configuration on the 68' and 71' of the spindel is different on the trucks will it still work?

Yeah, just swap crossmembers, that way your brake lines are all running on the right side of the crossmember.

If you think you'll need to replace the ball joints in the disc brake crossmember, you might as well keep your current stuff and just put 71 ball joints in your current A-arms, then bend lines to go over to the correct side for the rubber brake lines.
