Custom headliner?
LMC used to sell a custom headliner that had speakers and overhead storage, including, if I recall, a place to install a CB. Just got to where I can afford it and they don't have it anymore . Anyone know where I might still be able to get one for a 1968 C20?

I think you are probably right. I checked the Whitney site based on s95930's response, as I know they had something like that at one time also and they don't show it anymore either. Seems like Whitney doesn't list much of anything pre 1973 though.

jamie, I think I remember some one on here, or maybe Wess's board, but someone was saying that if you call, they will tell you it has been discontinued.
Personally, I would check, but I am pretty sure it is a used item only now. |

Aha you're right it is in CB34 but not CB35. I'll call tomorrow and see if they have any left. Won't get my hopes up though .

Just discovered they are open Sunday. And they are out of the highliners, as I was afraid of . And a web search yields no results.
So, time for plan B. Kick panel speakers, a stock headliner and maybe one of the overhead shelves from Whitney. Now the only problem there is that Whitney doesn't list any of the shelves for pre-1973 models. Anyone have an idea how much different the 1973 model would be and if it would adapt to the 1968 body style? Or maybe someone knows of another headliner similar to this one, not specifically for our truck but that might work just the same... |

Can you tell me the measurements of the radio hold? I suspect it is too small for my bulky SSB/CB radio but never hurts to ask. I have the CB mounted under the dash right now but that gets in the way if there are three of us travelling so I'm looking for a better place to put it.
BTW did you mention that as an offer to sell ? What price the headliner sans stereo? Ok what price the stereo too if just for discussion sake ? Don't worry my "project" has been going on for 15 years, though it just recently became a "project". Until the restore bug got into me it was just keeping the darn thing running! |
