supply and demand, basically...everyone wants a set for their 4x4 but not that many came with them from the factory. plus who knows how many have been crushed or sold for scrap over the years. they are also big heavy hooks that are forged and very strong, so they arent decorational.
but anyway, sorry to hijack your post jerzrod...those look to be the 67-68 style, good luck selling them.

You just answered your own question whitesswj,
"I under stand that these are hard to find orginal."

They look nice, even i'd like to have them but i have no need for them. I'll ask around, maybe someone i know might want them. Good LK

whitesswj, rather than hijack someones for sale thread by questioning the price on the items sold, start a new one in the 67-72 discussion side...its a little more curtious to the seller.

NOW THAT THIS POOR GUYS THREAD HAS BEEN PISSED ALL OVER, HOW ABOUT READING & ABIDING BY THE RULES & GUIDELINES AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE. (OH & BY THE WAY ... I'VE SEEN TOWHOOKS SELL FOR A WHOLE LOT MORE) 12) It is against our policy for someone to post a complaint about a member’s price on whatever they are selling. If you don't like the price then skip it. Let it drop to the bottom on its own. They (potential buyers) will figure it out, why nobody is jumping on that particular item. SORRY JERZOD -- MAY I SUGJEST COPYING... DELETING... & REPOSTING YOUR ORIGINAL THREAD?? JOHN

This thread really opened my eyes. I have a set off a 92 Z71 I
almost sold for $10.00 glad I didn't now. Didn't really know what they were worth. Thanks for all the history.

beamers69, not to offend but yours are worth maybe $20.00.
The only hooks that are worth this kind of money are the 67-68 style seen here and the 69-72 style. There are actually 2-3 styles of 69-72, some of which are more rare than others. The value comes from several things. Availability, style, condition and years. (67-68, 69-72) These were not on very many trucks. Look around at the newer trucks and you will see most all have them. My 89, 90, 96, and 02 all have hooks. Wimpy ones compared to these. I hope this helps explain the curiousity and someone get these. They are getting fewer all the time.

i just sold a set of 67-68 style and the more common 69-72 style to a gentleman in central calif for $450.00, 225 a set. he also bought a tach, vacuum &speedwarning cluster and a tach, speedwarning cluster, both were restored and he paid a grand for the two of them.
it all comes down to supply and demand and how bad you really want it. 200 bucks is a darn good price
