What is narrowed Dana 60 worth?

A friend has a chance to buy a narrowed dana 60 rearend. It's width from backing plate to backing plate is 44 inches, 3.50 posi trac gears, shortened axles, new bearings, extra set of 4.11 gears with it, brackets for the 4 link set up welded on, no backing plates or brake stuff. The asking price is $500, it's a friend of his so might be able to work the price down a bit.

What is a fair price for something like this?

Nothing! if you don't have a purpose for it, not many people put narrowed rearends in and over all casings aren't that expensive., It's the gears and Axles that will get you.. $500 if you can use it.

you did the right thing...i've got 4000.00 in my 9" now thats with
brakes and the labor to cut ,,make,,,weld it and all....
but i am thinking that ...the DANA is a better rear end than my 9"
and believe me thats hard for me to say....

high H.P. demands great parts....and even then....something breaks....
now i've welded the sprag in 2nd gear in the th400
now i need to spend about 750.00 to fix that the right way

o well.....
