where to buy replacement upholstery for bench seat
I have the stock velor upholstery in my 86. Anyone reccommend the best place to buy new upholstery for it. I see that chevyduty sells a replacement one that is supposed to be like the original. Anyone know if this one is a good one or would you reccommend a better place?
Mike

My '86 seat is all cloth on the top, just vinyl on the sides and back. As far as I know, it is original. I just plan to ask an upholsterer to try to duplicate the pattern. "Close" is close enough for me since it isn't a restoration.
I saw a comment on one of the boards a while back where someone purchased a repro upholstery kit. He was unhappy with it because he said the texture that the original seat had was printed on in a contrasting color rather than woven into the fabric. I don't remember who posted that, or who the vendor was, but it might be something to look out for. Slonaker Last edited by Slonaker; 02-06-2004 at 04:55 PM. |

Classic Industries ( www.classicindustries.com) has them in their catalog. They have either all velour for 81-87 for $149.95. They also have all vinyl for $139.95. I think Chevyduty, LMC, and Classic Industries may buy from the same vendor, maybe?
