Windshield squirter upgrades?
The originals seem to suck, can anyone share what you you have done to upgrade, I'm looking for ideas.
Thanks |

Those little $10 motors found at JCW, Auto Zone, etc. work fine for me--so small that you can hide them and keep the original for stock appearance if that's your thing.

Not sure if I am on the same page as you - but I had a similar thought today. They shoot 2 narrow streams on the window, and then the wipers have to push it around. I wish mine sprayed more than just shooting a stream up there.
Can we take the tips off a newer car and use those?

I PUT WINDSHEILD WIPER FLUID BOTTLES OFF EARLY 90s CHEVY PICKUPS ON ALL MY TRUCKS. THEY HOLD ALMOST A GALLON OF FLUID & THE MOTOR IS SELF CONTAINED AS PART OF THE BOTTLE. I PICK EM UP AT THE BONEYARD FOR ABOUT SIX OR EIGHT BUCKS. JOHN

Here is an idea, find the little square type ones that most cars have on the hood(they push into a hole in the hood), and see if it will push and seat in the cowl vent holes. The hose should hook right up to them. It's just seating them and getting them to stay that might take some thought, but it shouldn't be too hard.

If you're looking for a different setup to actually get the solvent on the windshield, look at a setup on a mid-seventies Corvette. They had a small feeder tube that was hidden in the underside of the blade arm. The sprayers were on the arms themselves. It was a pretty good setup and distributed the solvent very evenly.

My favourite are the jets from a Jeep Cherokee, never used them on anything else but they spray a fan pattern across the whole glass. May be worth a look.

This isn't what I've done but instead what I eventually plan on doing...have some of the parts to do it, not all yet so it hasn't began yet. I really like the spray pattern on the Acura legends (and most other acuras share the same pattern), fan pattern shot from the hood, and use a newer GM spray tank with the pump built in (already have one from an '87 C20 I parted out).

New Window Squirter
This is what I did with mine. Late model jug with pump made in it and get the wiper sprayer's also. I put them in a pot of water and heated it up so I could fit them to the wiper's on the truck. Take the wipers off and use a pair of vise grips to hold them tight over night, the next day they are there. You get spray all over the window where you need it.
