I won!!! (truck pics- DUW warning)

I finally put the last bolts in my truck last night, holding in the grille. I hope the pics are not too dark, as I took them inside. It's cold and wet here today . Also, if these are too big, I apologize in advance. I am computer illiterate for the most part.

WOW! Jonboy that looks killer. I guess I didn't realize you were that close to having it together.

Get us more pics of the rest of it when you can. Have you decided what you are going to do about lowering it?

Jonboy, that is one sweet looking truck. I'm new here and have not followed the build-up of your truck, a little more info and pics please. The 73 shorty is one of my favorites.

PS, the pic was the right size.

I actually sold it back to the family I bought it from. I will probably buy another SWB soon, and build it a little closer to what I want. I want A/C, PW, PL, tilt, etc. this time and probably small block power. I like the 454, but the mileage is terrible. I filled up 3 times between OKC and Dallas. I will get some more pics when the sun comes out. The interior came out beautifully, but the pics came out too dark.

Looks great. I got a question for you. On the hood since it's an earlier like mine where it has the hood release in the grille did you relocate it or what?

Brandon, My truck still has the outside release. I used a hood prop rod off of some import car at the pick-a-part. Get one that has the hinge at the bottom, then bolt or rivet that to the release. I ran the rod inbetween the two bolts in the valence under the grille. I welded a piece of pipe to the end to use as a handle. It is hidden behind the bumper.

twoodson, the pics are actually at Chuck Fairbanks Chevrolet here in Desoto. I work in the body shop here, as Assistant Manager. I had the bed done here, and the cab done at Village Lincoln Mercury when I worked there. The painters whined terribly about doing it. I can probably find you a hookup, depending on what you need to have done.

Thanks for all the positive comments, folks. I hadn't posted a whole lot about the progress, as it went in spurts. Hopefully the sun will come out soon and I will get some good pics of it, especially the interior. It really looks trick!
