89 1/2 ton 2wd lift kit, rims, tires
I've got an '89 suburban 1/2 ton 2wd. I'm looking to do a suspension lift, rims and tires. Maybe a 3" lift and 32x12.5r15 tires.
Does anybody know if the front suspension of a 87 chevy truck is the same as the 89 suburban? The reason I ask is because I'm having a tough time finding a suspension lift for an '89 suburban 2wd. What are recommendations? Thanks for any help!! |

Should be are you looking at the fabtech lift, looks like they list it for trucks subs and blazers 73-87 but I don't think the subs or blazers changed their front suspension at all from 73-91

Post some pics when you do it. I have concidered the same. I was going to do bags for the rear so I could adjust for cargo.
Most of the 2wd pre runner folks will tell you with the stock suspension mounting locations 3 inches is about it while retaining a near stock ride. Other option but I don't care for this is a body lift. Now here is some info. A 32 will fit with little or no trimming on a 3/4 ton burb with the right offset wheel. 1/2 ton sites about 2 inches lower then 3/4. My 88 3/4 came stock with 235 85 16's and if you do the match thats about 31.5 inches. It's a skinny tire on a skinny 6.5 inch wide rim. a 32 11.5 on a 8 inch rim with 4 inches of back space may just fit or with some minor trimming of the lowest point on the wheel opening and be able to fit with no lift. Michael at http://www.mkparker.com/goose/ had 35's on his 2wd with bulged fiberglass fenders and no lift. ![]()
