Post OT My son wants License plates

Anyone know of a good place to get old license plates? We want to make a map of the US on the side of the barn with every state.

THanks

I have plates from several states, if you wanna pay shipping, you can have them. Let me know if your interested and I'll let you know what states I have. I used to get mine from a local wrecking yard. They would do nation wide searches for parts and request a plate from whichever state they got the parts from. Seems like they kinda put a stop to that though.........

May those who love us, love us, any of those who do not love us, may God turn their hearts.
And if God is unable to turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles so we may know them by their limping.

Sounds good Scrub, I'll go dig them out and get a list of what states I have. I'll be looking for your email.

71Chev, I've got Arizona covered (a car plate and a trailer plate) but maybe he'll take you up on Nevada. I didn't have that one in my collection. I had Hawaii though, that one couldn't have been easy to get!

If you have any family in the military, send them to the junk yards there. Should be a wide variety in there. And since it is technicly illegal to sell them, the yard guy can't say much about it.

Nevada makes you turn in your plates, unless it is a personalized plated. The one I have is actually a trailer plate a previous owner didn't remove.

Go to any local swapmeets. You will find tons of them. Or Ebay.
Longhornmail.............. Where did you get the idea it is illegal to sell license plates? There are numerous license plate clubs for collectors. You can register a Year of Make plate to your vehicle in most states. Wouldnt it make it illegal to do that if you couldnt buy one?
