Post 6" LIFT


Ok i have a 90 suburban if i was to install a 6"lift would i have to lenghten the drive shafts.

I think you might need to lenghten your driveshafts, but I am not totally sure on this. I have an idea about lifting 88-00 chevy trucks with IFS, what if you get a 3" suspension lift which runs about $400 for the parts (4" or higher is over $1000) and get a 3" body lift. That would give you a 6" lift, which should be enough for 35" or 36" tires. This lift would be a cost effective way to raise a rig and even though you wouldn't have as much clearence as you would with a 6" suspension lift you would have considerably more than stock.

We did a 6" lift on a 95 extended cab with a 3" body lift, Bushwacker flares and 39.5 Swamper Boggers. The only shaft that needed to be lenghtened was the rear driveshaft.
