Shop backed into my Burb! - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Got a call from the shop where my truck is at for some brake work (Les Schwab). The guy says they've run into a problem--I'm thinking there's something wrong with the suspension or whatever. No, one of their guys backed into the driver's side rear of my beautiful Burb with a 2-ton truck!

It actually doesn't sound too bad, and at least he managed to back into the side where some rust was starting to bubble up. Now maybe I'll use some of the new Suburban patch panels...any vendors out there (Wes, GMCPaul, etc.)?

Wow, sorry to hear that, that sucks! But it also sounds like it might be a blessing in disguise! I hope the repaire bill for the body work comes out of there pocket and not yours!!!

That sucks!!!! I would complain about it to them and make them do my brakes for free IMO

Don't get too crazy irate, they are working on your BRAKES.....

Raise enough hell to get what you want, but make sure they know it's not personal.

Being it happened at Les Schwab and was their fault I would think that they will make it right. Who knows you will probably get free beef out of the deal. LOL

being an employee of that fine company, give them a chance to make it right before going postal on them. evreyone makes mistakes and just because they are a business dosent mean they are going to screw you.

Hell, it took the French four years to lift their ban on British Beef after the Mad Cow thing. Our cows are no longer mad, just a little ticked off!

Well, I got the truck back today. They did a full brake job (including new rotors) on the front and replaced the master cylinder. I spoke with the manager about the obvious painintheassedness of having them back into my truck, customer satisfaction, blah, blah. They knocked off the cost of the labor, which reduced the bill by about 25% (around $130).

Also, their insurance company only requires one estimate, and say they will work with whichever body shop I choose. Now the only problem is finding a shop that will take it. Out of the three I've talked to, only one is even willing to give me an estimate. Most will not work on anything older than 10 years! I'm going to post a new thread to see if anyone in my area has suggestions. Thanks for all the sympathy and comments.
