Seat options

I need a new seat for my 1972 Chevy. I want to know what will fit so I know what to look for. I need something not too expensive, not like the ones in Summit. Some pics would be nice too.

Thanks, Tim

Those seats that Bill has look great, but Boy are they expensive!--at least around here or on Ebay. I'd like to see some alternative that you guys have used also. Has anyone tried something like Cadillac or Lincoln seats mounted on original mounts??

I'm particularly fond of the 67-72 bench seats. Kinda got a thing for OEM.

Check your local swap meets.Just about any seat will fit but you will probably have to make mounts. The main thing to remember is to match the style of seat to the style you have chosen to build your truck. For example don't use high tech buckets in an old school style truck.I bought a set at a swap meet for $50.00 and they have great fabric and the drivers is power. Now if I ever get time to build brackets and install them......

Mine is from a 93 C1500. Around here any of the 88-98 seats (non leather) full bench or split run $125-150 at most yards. Most dominent color is the burgundy/red cloth it seems here.

Hey guys.

Can you edit your posts and add in if you have your tank relocated or not and if you gained (yeh right) or lost leg room?

I want to do this, but don't know what combination works or if it will work with the tank still in.

Thanks

Ron

I would say you are not going to gain any leg room removing the tank. The top of the seat hits the cab under the window before the tank comes into play. But you will get storage space behind the seat, especially for woofers or stereo amps
