Value of a 1986 Sierra Classic ???

Hello Guys,i just took in a 1986 GMC Sierra Classic that is red and grey in color with a rust free body.It has the 454 engine auto trans that runs great and the truck has ps,pb,pl,pw,tilt e.t.c.
I am not use to a truck of this year being rustfree or having a big block. I would like to know in your honest opinion what is a truck like this worth.I was thinking of selling the big block and installing a SBC for econmical reasons but i dont want to lose the value of the truck either.
Thanks in advance for any help,Bill

Welcome to the board!
I think a small block is a wonderful idea. I can come over and pull that gas wasting 454 outta your truck and dispose of it no charge. I'm sure other members will offer some help too

Is this a one ton truck? 1/2 tons didn't come with 454's, unless I've totally lost my mind, which is possible. Did someone put it in. I bet money it came with a 305, if 1/2 ton.

Anyway, sounds very nice indeed. Yeah, I'll be glad to snatch the thing out for you. I wouldn't have a gas sucking piece of crap 454 in my truck.

Oh, and welcome to our home away from home. Where you from anyway. We are nosey around here.
