Short Step Bed Parts F/S
I took apart the short step bed that was on the 71 GMC. The step boards are in good shape needing only minor work to be perfect. The bed strips have minor surface rust and slight bends. The bed supports only have surface rust. Rear support has minor bend on pass side, only surface rust. Driver bed side is straight, has rust on the inside flange near the front, Pass bed side is straight, clean. The bed had diamond plate welded to the sides on top of wood and strips, that's why it was so clean underneath. I had to use a torch to 2 welds on drivers side and one on passenger side.
Driver side step board and support $25.00 Pass side step board and support $25.00 Seven (7) bed metal strips $20.00 Four (4) bed cross supports $60.00 Rear support under tailgate $20.00 Driver side bed side $30.00 Pass side bed side $40.00 All prices do not include shipping. Request pics and details if interested. Thanks, Don. *** *** NEW PRICE: $60.00 FOR IT ALL!! *** *** Last edited by dtlilly; 03-16-2004 at 04:40 PM. |

PM back at ya Krue.
Anyone that wants anything here has until Sunday late AM, or I'm listing the parts on ebay. I thought I'd offer to the family first, I'll accept offers/trades. |

Here's a pic of the passenger side inside of the bed. Real clean and straight, no rust, no bows. Bed was powder blasted with aluminum oxide and then etching primered. I had to use red oxide primer in areas that were starting to survase rust.

that;s not rust toward the top of the picture? Would it be possible to ship both sides if the other side is nice also?
Thanks again, Taylor

Here's the inside of the drivers side. Please note there is rust holes on the lip that the wood boards mount to near the front part, also there is a slight burn area from where I had to torch one of the welds that held the plate metal floor that had been installed. Other than that, no bends, no bows, very straight. Was powder blasted with aluminum oxide then etching primered. Again, I had to use red primer to cover surface rust only.

Driver side outside. No rust, no bends, no bows. Aluminum oxide blasted and etching primered. Top rail real straight and clean, just a few drill holes from a side rail to fill.

Passenger side outside. As you can see very straight and clean. No rust, no bends, no bows, straight top rail, just several drill holes from a side rail to fill. Aluminum oxide blasted and etching primered.

You asked about the first pic. That is where I had no cut a weld off from where there was a diamond plate steel plate welded to the floor. I tried to break all the welds, but on one this side and two on the other side wouldn't break.
I'll check about shipping through Grey Hound Bus lines. I assume it would be cheapest to ship these. Last edited by dtlilly; 02-15-2004 at 07:33 AM. |

Yeah check it out if you don't mind to the Richardson,TX station. I'm very interested if the shipping isn't insane. If it is, there is a slight possibility a buddy would be able to pick them up for me in the next month or so.
LMK!!! Thanks for your time.

Are the steps still available? What is the overall condition of them?
I wouldn't mind buying the whole package but I think that the shipping would kill me.

The steps are still here with everything else. The condition of them is they each have a small stress crack at the 90 degree bend. The primered one has a small area that had to be filled because of a over zealous oxide blaster. The supports are in good shape.
I prefer to sell as a lot, but Spencra has first dibs on the steps if I end up selling seperate. |

I'm sure that somebody will buy the lot. That is a really good deal. I would certainly buy it all if I could pick it up. I know that there are lots of board members in that area, where are you guys?

Larry (spencra) your PM box is full.
If you look at the top of the white step, you can see the small repairable crack. I'll try to get more pics this weekend. |
