4 core and a 454 radiator shroud.

It will bolt up to what ever tranny he has but a 700R4 isn't long for the world behind it. TH350 migh have a better shot but TH400 or SM465 would be better.

Thanx for the info,he already has the 4 core but no shroud. He has had the 700r4 rebuilt with the shift kit will it hold up to a stock motor? He doesnt plan on pushing it hard or anything, maybe just towing our 18ft trailer?

Maybe. Keep foot out of it. My stock 88 454 is making 385lbft of torque at 1600 RPM. Thats a LOT of torque at a really low RPM. Depending on the rear it may be less. It's a lot more the GM ever intended to be run throgh that tranny. GM NEVER put that tranny behind the 454 for a reason. That's why One tons didn't get Over drive till 91 when GM came out with the 4l80.

Assuming you have BBC brackets and pulleys, the mounts are the same but you will need new BBC manifolds or BBC chevelle headers. The transmission will work but probably not last with a heavy foot. Good luck and snap some pics while your at it
