farthest rejet from stock edelbrock

what is the richest anyone has adjusted an edelbrock carb from the way it came? I am still fighting a lean cruise condition, am going to wait on hold again tommorow for edelbrock tech, and try to get some good info, so far I havent. Have tried everything else, going to just keep going until cruise seems rich and then back up a little, problem is I am at the top of the graph for my carb, so I am comparing where bigger carbs start and use their graph, its good at idle and off idle and good wide open(but could be better) but the pinging at cruise is a bad thing and no soot in pipes and plugs are clean white most of the way around, it is a 1806

dont really know comp. ratio, but know most else about it, for the most part I think its a pretty stock lower end 396, over some if memory serves, cylinders measured more than a 396 but not as much as 427, 402 is my guess or close, pistons look to be sort of a flat top with some pop up (at tdc maybe a 1/4 off deck in places)with a cut for intake valve, heads are truck castings, the machinist said they were 122 chambers, not a formula for high comp ratio I think. Fresh up from there, Performer cam/lifters, intake, carb, new springs and valve job, hei, ac plugs, exhuast manifolds and 2 1/2" duals w/crossover, runs great, just has a mid throttle ping. No air leaks, redone everything (twice), got to be carb tuning, hopefully edelbrock is working the holiday today, I am.
