I'm looking at putting wider front wheels and tires on my truck and am thinking about putting power steering on. Have any of you used a Nascar power steering pump? I run a motor plate in my truck and it looks like it would be super cool and mount easy on the plate. Any ideas?

i'd think a pump for a nascar racer would be pretty high-pressure and would probably blow out the pinto steering seals

It looks like the pulley they run on it is huge so I was wondering if it would put out very much at low rpm without putting a smaller pulley on it. What do you think?

I am running a power steering pump from street and performance. It has a remote resevoir which is cool. You can look it up on their web site at hotrodlane.com Kerry

correct me if i'm wrong but i believe a smaller pulley would increase your pressure. the smaller pulley would turn more revolutions per revolutions of your crank thus increasing the rpm of the pump thus increasing pressure. it's early...need coffee, pencil and paper.

Jones Racing sells some nice pumps along with brackets if needed. They have the reservoirs available both ways. Street and Performance stuff is nice but sometimes a little pricey. Here's the link . Pulleys are sold separately so you can pick the dimension you'd need.

Edit for: I sort missed the motor plate part. That could be a problem. How thick is the plate?
