Do the 95 K-1500 trucks have the same exact rear axle as the pre '88 trucks ? The 8.5" 10 bolt ? Is the spring pad spacing the same as it always was after '73 ? I measure spacing of right at about 47 1/4". I found code XPR on the axle tube, comes back as a 3.42 8.5" ring gear. I need to know if 88-up 6-bolt axle shafts will slip into and work in the 4x2 axle housings. I noticed there are two sets of spring pads on the 88-up trucks, they are using the outer two, odd... thanks for anything, asking for someone I know whos axle went bad on them in their 95 4x4. ------------------ Randy- Lincoln, IL r68c30@hotmail.com 217 735 3230 ------------- Fleet, currently: 68 panel delivery- in TX- for sale 68 C-30 dually dump, driver 72 K5 chassis; partially disassembled 79 G10 sportvan, driver 77 Electra boatcar, driver 76 1500 in pieces, scrap 68 C10 in pieces, scrap America and 68's rule ! r68c30@hotmail.com + MSN messenger + 24/7/365 = truck talk MSN messenger [This message has been edited by Fast68Chevy (edited 11-12-2001).] |

They changed the 10 bolts from 28 to 30 spline axle shafts in 1989 or so. Old style 12 bolt truck axle shafts will work in the 30 spline 10 bolts with a little grinding on the ends.
