Got the truck now parting out (69 4x4, 3/4Ton) PICS NOW

Alright, posted in another thread (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...threadid=88974) that I was going to get a truck in Gregory, SD, well got back from that trip at about 8:30 tuesday morning. Wonderful ice on the roads this morning, before that crap hit I was making great time at 80 MPH in my friends 2000 Z71 Silverado with the truck on a 20' flatbed car hauler. Didn't get the other two parts trucks due to lack of space on trailer, but I will almost definitely get a '72 C/20 cab and front clip from the same guy in a few weeks.

The truck is something, what I'm not sure. The badges say its a C/20, which would mean 2WD 3/4 Ton. However, the truck was most definitely a 4x4, being that the cab has the raised floor w/ low removable hump, the front axle/differential in the bed, etc. Why it wasn't labeled K/20 or CST/20 I don't know. Its been suggested that maybe a low hump 4x2 cab was dropped on a 4x4 frame, which would be possible - there is a square hole cut in the low manual hump for the t-case shifter.

The front sheet metal is all shot. Truck has been in an accident, or maybe 5. The backs of the fenders & hood are all good tho, so if someone needs patch panels for fender or hood maybe we can make a deal. The passenger side inner fender is descent and has no holes. The driver side has no holes but has a small crease left - I pounded out the major crease. Would work fine for a driver.

Cab is amazingly solid, nothing but small surface rust on the corners. I suppose this is what a farm truck in a state that doesn't salt the roads should be. I found a nice '72 Cab in the color I want, so I'm willing to let this cab go for $175. The dash hasn't been touched.

One thing I got that I wasn't counting on getting was a complete 350, I was told it was gone, will see if I can get that bugger running, but its all there with a 4-bbl (rochester Q-jet I'm guessing) and air cleaner.

Some people that have called interest on parts:
ltitsnw - frame/crossmembers/Tcase
da-burb - bed parts and doors
67 cst swb - doors, xfer case (also on grill but grill is no good)

My email is botboy60@hotmail.com, would prefer email to PM.
If you have pic requests email them to me or put them in this thread.

I am in need of several parts for my vehicles, so I have parts off this truck (and maybe some cash) to trade for:
NV4500 or a good 5 or 6 speed I can drop behind a 350 without worry of blowing it up (So no T5s)
M21 2WD driveshaft yoke
Zoops tri-bar 7" headlights (pair)
Outer grille for '72 C10
Front fenders for '72 C10
Inner fenders (both) for '72 C10
Steel floor bed in good shape (floor only) for '72
Posi or locker for my '72 (Think I've got a 12 bolt rear)

Manual conversion pieces for my '72 C10 (brake/clutch assy, sbc bellhousing, z-bar, etc) - taken care of!

no 4wd trucks had a badge with a "K" on it except K/5 blazers, which all had it (4wd or 2wd). if it was a base model, it would say C/20, but it could also say Custom/20, CST/20, or Cheyenne 20, or whatever, depending on trim level called for on the option sticker. best way to check if its an original 4x4 is look at vin tag or GB sticker. good luck selling your parts.

If it was a 2wd and it had a high hump it was a big block truck. THey needed the extra room mostly for the TH400.

Truck wasn't a BB, I could wish but the glove box sticker says it was originally equipped with a V8-350. Has a low hump, manual tranny.

Looked at some things, the transmission appears nearly complete except for the actual shifter and ball, which might be around I just gotta look. Found the top cover and the shift arms, aside from some surface rust nothing appears wrong.

The transfer case is a rockwell, ratio 1.94, so I think that might be worth more $$$ than a NP transfer case. As with the transmission everything appears there but has some rust/scale. I know from several experience with my dads truck (1969 CST/20 w/1 ton suspension, warn lockouts, muncie 4spd rockwell divorced and some knobby tires) that that drivetrain combo is nearly fcking indestructible. The only time that I remember anything breaking is when my dad tried to pull a gooseneck trailer with about 3 tons of fencing supplies on it up a 35 degree grade in 4hi & 2nd gear, truck made it almost all the way up then a shaft broke.

Low hump

All low hump cabs are 2wd so sounds like they put a 2wd cab on a 4x4 chassis. Easy enough to cure, just cut out the low hump and bolt in the high hump. That's what I did on my donor cab for my '71 K2500. Also, check the vin, 4x4 would be KE and 2wd is CE for a V8.

You have alot of good stuff there. If I was guessing I'd say you have a 69 body on a 67-8 chassis.I'm not sure if a 221 tcase was in a 69 I do know that style lockout wasn't used in 69.There might be some out there but all I have ever seen used spicer chrome cover L.O.s with red or blue knobs. Good Luck!

it could be a '69, my truck has the T221 married to an SM465, and front drum brakes with those hubs.
