newer step side beds

my buddy would like to know what all has to been done to instal an 1988-1998 step side bed on his 1967 c-10 short bed.is there any mods the need to been done?

Just need to shim up 1 1/2 inches for the front and rear mounts. From what I gather, most people use a piece of thickwalled 1 1/2 square tubing and bolt it across the frame on the front and rear mounts. Then the new bed is bolted to this using the original mounting locations along the outer edges of the bed.

I got a 90 model stepbed with ZR1 rollpan and tailite caps wiring harness also 1000.00 OBO

I went to welder and had somebrackets welded to frame. Holes
from orig bed don't line up to holes on new bed. 69 frame about
4 inches narrower than newer frame. Cost was about 100.00.
