If that was local I would be buying it...worth restoring to original...especially with matching numbers. There are lots of 50th's around but this seems to have most of the options...nice starter!

If it wasnt' for the bucket seats I'd say just another truck. I bought a solid gold truck that had been sitting for over 10 years and was a little rougher for $120, a guy spilt it with me cause he wanted the 327, so I got it for $60. All Ac was there too.

that was just in December of last year too. It needs rockers and all 4 cab supports. it has the nicer door panels but doesn't have the guage package.

Yes there are snipers out there but if you want bad you'll bid high enough that they can't get it, to each there own. Bid now or wait till last. I bid now keeps me interested!!!!!!!

It's what I tell the anti-sniper crowd; whether you bid early or in the last few seconds, The Highest Bidder Always Wins. So if you get sniped at the last second, the bottom line is the other bidder was willing to pay more than you, and I don't think the seller has a problem with higher bids. I've sniped and been sniped. I never even bid on an item until the last 10 seconds, then I bid what I'm willing to pay for the item, if it's high enough, I win, if not, I lose. That's the way it goes.
I thought you guys would like this truck posted. Looks like it even has the original hubcaps and all. Wonder if it has A/C?

davidh, mine came with no a/c as well, not to mention a bench seat. To be a 50th it has to have the gold and white two-tone paint, i forget the code... something like 551...... and it must be a 1968 model pickup. The suburbans have slight differences, interior color, outside paint has the white roof only without the lower white belt line. Just going off memory from 68 Suburban's Burb....

You might try a search of the archives for 50th Anniversary
There is some great reading there.

Mine is not two tone? Has all the CST trim, it's gold with the only white being on the front of the grille between the trim. Is it still a 50th anniversery? It looks like the paint is original but not 100% sure.

davidh, check your glovebox option sheet. Must have paint code 551 to be a 50th Anniversary truck; no exceptions.

The 50th Anniversary was for the Chevy truck line in 68. They usually just have a special paint option for 25th and 50th. To my knowledge they have only had a 25th and 50th Corvette and a 25th Camaro. The car models change too frequently to last that long.

Is that a 50th?? Has anyone e-mailed him?

I know options were different on 50th's, but didn't they have to be 551 paint code and at least a Custom or CST. This truck is not a Custom or CST. No door emblems, glove box emblem, No stainless on the windshield rear window pedals etc. The seat looks right, but need to know paint option for sure.

Thumbs up

Congrats Kevin on the purchase, I was going to bid again but since you and your son are going to fix it up, I thought that would be a better thing than me having it. Have fun with it, I want pics when you get it done. Randy
