Help with body question
I'm trying to line up the top of the blazer windshield frame. I had it torn down for sandblasting and paint. Now that its ready to be welded back to the top of the windsheild frame, it acts warped or something. Should I just weld one side and then pull it into the other, or will this make it worse? Can't really see any other way to do it. Gee Emm, any idea's? Thanks, Jeff.

Try bolting the frame onto the top then just line up each side. I personally would have used some bracing on the donor frame before it was removed. Post some pictures, I would love to see how you are doing this.

I'll take some pics tonight and post them. This is all off the original cab though. I just split every seam, took everything apart and am now in the process of reassembly after sandblasting and repairing the rot. Jeff.

No, the pillars have been reattached. Like I said, I had it broken down to parade rest. The only thing I didn't take apart was the nuts inside the pillars. I just sand blasted them inside it. I have reassembled to this point and don't know if I warped the header, or the pillars have bowed some.

Make sure you are seating the top bar all the way onto the frame, from the looks of it something is stopping it from going on all the way. It should line up like the right side is.

The bottom edge of the header was hitting the pillar, but I bowed it back out when I realized I had it too tight. Its not touching now though. The lower edge of the header does run into the backing plate at the back of the pillar a little, but I don't think thats keeping it from lining up. Do you think if I tacked one end real well and then pulled the header into line real easy it would be wacked out?

When I am test fitting mine I find that I have to kind of squeeze it into position. Try clamping the bottom lip in place with some vise grips and manuver the top to see if it will line up, if it will tack it in place stand back and take a look at it and see if it looks straight.

Sounds good. I'll just keep tweaking it until I get it where it looks right. I was just worried about overdoing it. Thanks, Jeff.
