Question rear spring mounts ?

just starting on my truck, The rear springs are mounted on the trailing arms, and im wondering why there are mounts for springs on top of the axles also ?? anyone know?????its a 69 stepside,6cyl,4-speed,manual steering,and brakes. thanks jeff

Yea it's not stock that's for sure,but if it work's then just grind off the mount's and no one would ever know..

Those would appear to be aftermarket helper spring mounts. Just take them off. You dont need them. A extra coil spring monted there for heavier loads. But its Not Stock....so toss em.

looks like you can just unbolt them......looks like they are held down with that skinny u-bolt
