met dtlily yesterday!, and memphis roadtrip

i haven't met a lot of the board members yet. i hope to bump into
a few more of you at the chevy gmc nationals in piegon forge in the spring.
yesterday, i met Don Lilly. he is a heck of a nice guy. i bought a cab from him off of the parts board and had to pick it up in memphis. we planned to leave around 7 am but the trailer light harness had to be installed on my wifes jeep which turned into a major pita. so we were 2 hours late getting started.
we left tuscaloosa yesterday morning, around 9:30 and got to memphis a little before 3 in the afternoon. we stopped for lunch and had a couple of mishaps with a broken weld on the tailgate on my new trailer. that gate hitting the pavement on 78 highway at about 80 mph was way scary!!! lol but we stopped and did a little jerry rigging with bungee cords. that got us back up and running untill a bungee stretched out and let it fall open again about 50 miles later.
We got to memphis way later than planned.
Don, being the nice guy that he is, left his cook out to help load the cab. (sorry about that don. ) The next trip up, the wife wants some of those crawfish!!!! lol !!
and we had a pretty uneventful trip home. we saw some beautiful country between tupelo and memphis, and had a great day with fantastic warm weather.
all in all it was so much fun, i can't wait for the next road trip!!
