How do I get the Headlight Switch Knob off?
I have a 1970 truck. How do I get the Headlight Swith Knob off. I know the knob and the post is all one piece, but can not figure out how to get it out of the switch. Help me please?

Push the kob all the way in, then reach up underneath the dash to the headlight switch. Feel on top of the switch and there is a little button. Push down the button while pulling out the knob and it comes right out

remember that your lights will turn on when you do this.
Instead of disconnecting your battery, I always just take my gauges out and then stick the knob back into the switch. It is a whole lot easier than messing with the battery

The knob will come off that shaft. Before I had been told how to do it I just pulled like a mo-fo and it popped back off. You can only do this about 3 times before havint to get the super glue out though.
I don't recomend this...mater of fact, forget I even mentioned it. Follow what they said and you'll be better off. |

I am one of those NON-Original kind of guys....
I just want the knob off. I have everything Billet Alluminum that you can have for the interior of a 1970. Just got all my knobs from SO-CAL and my NO-LIMIT Billet Allum. Gauge panel and Glove box(not covers, solid Alluminum). I also got Auto Meter Ultra Lite gauges for it.......Thanks for all the replies.....

It might be awhile before I get it together. I got a wire kit from PAINLESS Wiring and am putting that in now. It sure looks easy in all the articles I have read, but that is not so.....Anybody out there ever did one of these Modern wiring jobs.....? Its not easy. Anyway I can post some pics and post them when I am done. I am doing my trucks interier in Black and Bright Yellow.....and Billet Alluminum.....Talk to you later...
