Tailgate Cover Or Filler?

I am looking for which route is better. To install the full smooth tailgate cover or go the filler patch route. The gate I have is in great shape. I'm worried that the full cover will not line up smooth with the quarter panels. But on the other hand the full cover would be less work to install. Any comments on this would be greatly appreciated.Oh yeah I'm an FNG! This seems to be a great forum on our trucks.I have a 72lwb. I'll post pics tommorrow. Thanks again.

Welcome to teh board from one FNG to another...oh wait, i'm not an FNG anymore.
You have stumbled onto what may be the best truck site on the web.
As for your question, the repro tail gates that have no lettering stamped into them are so flimsey, it will bow when you sit on it.
No joke...a few here will tell you from when they planted there rear on there freshly installed new tail gate.

Thanks for the welcome Longhorn. But I was referencing to the smooth covers that are welded over the tailgates to smooth out the recessed area. I am planning on using the factory tailgate.
