Lifter Tick
MY 350 has 64,000 miles on it and much as I love my truck, the chevy tick from the lifters drives me insane. I have tried varous engine clean, noise reducer stuff that does not seem to help. What is the most viable solution?

Try finding the offending lifter and tightening the rocker arm a little(while the enging is running) untill the tick stops. If that doesn't work try a new nut. I have had some bad nuts that won't stay tightened. Last, you could put in a new lifter.

Whenever the engine shudders. Loosen it off till it ticks good. Tighten till it stops and then turn it about 1/4 to 1/2 more turns.

you can get it really close without it running , with the engine off and the offending lifter decompressed , tighten the nut just until the rocker doesnt wiggle anymore and then back it offa quarter turn and that wil get you in the ballpark , or just have someone sit in the cab and bump it over and runn all the lifters that way , itll get ya close
