Body Lift Hardware?
For those that have done body lifts what are you using for hardware? I only need about 1 inch, but in planning this I found that the stock fasteners are too short. I looked around and the 7/16 and 9/16 bolts are hard to find. I can order longer bolts, but usually in quantities of 50 or more. I've come up with a couple options, but curious what everyone has used.

Most kits come with longer bolts. Since it sounds like your doing this from scratch, I suggest grade 5 bolts, 1/2 in front, 9/16 under feet and I believe it a 7/16 under the tank. I myself will be removing the body lift from my 71 and lowering it to about a 1.5-2" lift (still have to clear old 35s). There's a local fastener shop I'll stop by and see what's available. I have gotten 9/16 x 5" bolts grade 8 from them for my front springs. I will let you know something saturday.

Jim I'm making the blocks myself. I'm using 3" aluminum round stock cut to 1", they look like hockey pucks. The stock fasteners are Grade 5. 7/16" x 9" on the back of the cab. The fronts are 9/16" x 6". I need a 7/16" x 10", and a 9/16" x 7". 6" seems to be the cut off point as everyone seems to have them to that length. If GM had used 1/2" it would be real easy. I'm considering using a Grade 5 "All-Thread" and making them up myself.

What about the core support, I believe those are 1/2". I'll make it by and see this weekend.

No problem on the core support. The kit I have has bolts long enough for about a 3" lift, I actually will need to trim them.

Larry, I called them Friday and have not heard back, supposedly they could order them. the longest 9/16th they had was 6" in stock. I'll check back with them today. Are you still looking for the hardware?

Thanks Jim. I think I'm going to use 1/2" in the rear and the front look like they will be long enough to add 1". I'm going to remove the captured nut in the rear of the cab and use all new 1/2" hardware. I found the 10" Grade 5 bolts at a supplier in Sacramento, so I think I have it solved.

Great! They still have not called me back. Oh well, I liked that place. I guess I'll have to take my business else where.
