Lower Radiator Mounts
Yes, yet another stupid question from Tom...
Is there a correct way to remove the lower radiator mount from the radiator support? I need to change to the larger 4 core radiator mounts. I was just going to drill through the bottom of the radiator support where the threads are on the mount. Is it normal to have to grind down the edge of the radiator support when switching to the larger mounts? Thanks!!!

Bend the lip on the support for the new mounts. My factory assembly manual actually has a picture and says to bend it.

I used a grinder and cut the lower, then bent it down.....

Originally on the 4-core mounts, the radiator support was just bent out to allow the clearance.

Hmmm, thanks for the info, I need new ones, replaced the radiator a while back, there was only a rusty nub left for one of them, with a rubber piece hanging on for dear life . Anybody know where to get new ones, or do I have to cut some of a junkyard truck? Hmm, maybe I'll see if MOTHERTRUCKERS can help, I'll be visiting his shop in a couple weeks .
