What did you get done this weekend?

It's a little early but I thought I would start it before someone else did.

<<<< I broke 3000 posts on The 1947-1998 Chevrolet & GMC Pickup Message Board Network. What did you do?

Passed smog test! First one in Montgomery county, true dual exhaust, no EGR, (performer rpm) all passed well within limits! What a relief. Man tells me he would not have noticed whether it had cats or not. Maybe I should remove them!

Again, nothing to the truck.

Starting a new job on Monday. Been working for myself for the last couple of years (Carpenter). Things are not real good around here to be working for yourself right now. Besides, I've been doing Carpentry work for 33 years. I am totally burnt out with it. I figured it was time I tried something else for a change.

Put new u-joints on my rear drive shaft. Changed out my rear diff fluid to synthetic. I am walking out the door right now to go out to my truck and do the brighter dash light up grade thingy. I took pics last night, and I will take some more of the after, when I get done.

I got one side of my front end lowered. 3" spindles & one coil cut from the springs. I hope to tackle the other side tonight. I wish I had an engine in the truck so I could see how low its really gonna sit...corn

It's actually warm here for the first time this winter, 35 degrees F.
I got the following done:
1) Used my new 4 post hoist to change the oil and fix the long not working fog light in my daily driver.
2) Installed mirrors on my 81 Chev class C motor home
3) Installed new stereo in the same
4) Jacked up and started to loosen the Ubolts so I could change the rear axle in my 79 Blazer.
5) Swept and washed garage floors.

Later
Mike

I havn't been keeping all of you updated, but I'm in the process of painting my 83 dually crew cab. So this weekend I got the front of the box painted and the back of the cab done. Oh and the interior painted. I was reading about the dash light upgrade last night, so this was a good time to do that also. I am trying to fix the the gas guage, it reads way past full. Tried ground, no good, getting power back to the tank switch valve, but none to the tank. Better luck tomarrow. That's about it, until tomarow night.

Worked Sat/Sun on a punch list as tomorrow (Monday) it's being delivered to a shop that specialized in Vintage Air A/C. It's completely installed, all but the hard lines. He'll route them in, and charge the A/C.

When he's finished, then it's off to the painter.

I took out the headliner in my truck. It is now recovered and all the plastic pieces have been repainted. I used paints from Eastwoods. The stuff works great.

Sat-- spent all day in Annapolis for annual Coast Guard refresher training.

Sun- FINALLY got around to freeing up teh driver's side front window so that it runs at normal speed. I took the whole darn door apart-- tracks and all. I lubed it up and it's great now! It never was right ever since I replaced the track weatherstripping a few years ago. Now, I'm happy!

I also made some progress tracking down my mystery oil leak. I've put all that in another post, though...

Hey Castiron9 it's good to see some of you 67-72 guys drop in over here. Come on by any time...

I did get a bit more done after I started this thread on Sunday morning. I bought a trickle charger at Sears Hardware. I never have enough time to start everything in the garage, so I end up with dead batteries. I thought I would try one and see how well it works. I hope it doesn't fry anything...
