Cool 67 drag truck front end and rack and pinion

hi i am knew to this site, but what i have already read is awsome. first i own a 1967 chevy short box step side. I am building it to drag race with roll cage from chasis works. I am trying to get it as low and light as posible without using air bags. i already started with 3 inch drop lower a frame from djm and found these to be heavy unfortanatly. i am also wanting to use a 2.5 inch drop spindle set up from mcgaughys classic chevy. I want to use moroso springs which they can set at any ride height with right figures.
question: is there any problem that you guys know using both the drop a frame and the drop spindle.
also after reading these threads i see it is posible to notch crossmember 2"s. do you guys see any problems i may run into with this as part of the comination.
and finaly can anybody tell me which rack and pinion works best to convert to my truck. mustang, firebird, pinto etc...
thanks with any help
